BAVE Documentation

Comprehensive guide to AI per-shot optimization, delivery presets, audio normalization, and BDCP Master.

Getting Started Workflow

  1. Install BAVE and launch the desktop application.
  2. Sign in to sync your active license key or activate your 7-day trial.
  3. Import master media (ProRes, DNxHD, H.264, MP4, MOV, or MXF).
  4. Select a delivery target profile: Theatrical, Streaming, or Festival.
  5. Configure audio channel mapping, loudness targets, and subtitle tracks.
  6. Execute encoding — BAVE runs per-shot neural surrogate analysis locally on your CPU.

Delivery Target Presets

Preset profiles calibrate VMAF target metrics, rate control, and audio gain staging.

PresetTarget VMAFEncoder StrategyAudio Target
Theatrical96+CRF / Veryslow-24 LUFS / 5.1 Surround
Streaming93+CRF / Slow-14 LUFS / Stereo
Festival95+2-Pass Constrained Bitrate-23 LUFS / True-Peak Limited

Broadcast Audio Mastering

Continuous audio mastering chain prevents boundary clicking across shot cuts.

  • EBU R128 loudness normalization (-24 LUFS / -14 LUFS)
  • High-fidelity sample rate conversion (48 kHz)
  • True-peak limiting to prevent inter-sample clipping
  • Surround up/down-mixing

BDCP Master (Studio Edition)

Integrated Digital Cinema Package (DCP) authoring workspace.

  • SMPTE ST 429-1 JPEG 2000 2K / 4K cinema mastering
  • MXF wrapping via asdcplib (Picture, Sound, Timed-Text)
  • Cryptographic CPL, PKL, and AssetMap UUID generation
  • Automated 100-point QC validation auditor
