BAVE Documentation
Comprehensive guide to AI per-shot optimization, delivery presets, audio normalization, and BDCP Master.
Getting Started Workflow
- Install BAVE and launch the desktop application.
- Sign in to sync your active license key or activate your 7-day trial.
- Import master media (ProRes, DNxHD, H.264, MP4, MOV, or MXF).
- Select a delivery target profile: Theatrical, Streaming, or Festival.
- Configure audio channel mapping, loudness targets, and subtitle tracks.
- Execute encoding — BAVE runs per-shot neural surrogate analysis locally on your CPU.
Delivery Target Presets
Preset profiles calibrate VMAF target metrics, rate control, and audio gain staging.
| Preset | Target VMAF | Encoder Strategy | Audio Target |
|---|---|---|---|
| Theatrical | 96+ | CRF / Veryslow | -24 LUFS / 5.1 Surround |
| Streaming | 93+ | CRF / Slow | -14 LUFS / Stereo |
| Festival | 95+ | 2-Pass Constrained Bitrate | -23 LUFS / True-Peak Limited |
Broadcast Audio Mastering
Continuous audio mastering chain prevents boundary clicking across shot cuts.
- ✓ EBU R128 loudness normalization (-24 LUFS / -14 LUFS)
- ✓ High-fidelity sample rate conversion (48 kHz)
- ✓ True-peak limiting to prevent inter-sample clipping
- ✓ Surround up/down-mixing
BDCP Master (Studio Edition)
Integrated Digital Cinema Package (DCP) authoring workspace.
- ✓ SMPTE ST 429-1 JPEG 2000 2K / 4K cinema mastering
- ✓ MXF wrapping via asdcplib (Picture, Sound, Timed-Text)
- ✓ Cryptographic CPL, PKL, and AssetMap UUID generation
- ✓ Automated 100-point QC validation auditor
